Fertilizer Technician

Mitchell, Inc.’s Fertilizer Technician is responsible for providing fertilizer and weed control of lawns and beds as well as Tree and Shrub Care for our customers while meeting goals and generating additional leads/sales.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including work site, work vehicle, shop and equipment
  • Pesticide application of residential and commercial properties
  • Fertilizer application to residential and commercial properties
  • Tree and Shrub Care
  • Lawn Care
  • Consult and communicate with management on client needs
  • Perform other types of work during off-peak seasons, i.e. snow events, aerating, etc.
  • Grow your skills and knowledge of the company and the industry
  • Maintain forms as required by the state and complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
  • Stock and prepare truck as needed with all materials and equipment that will be needed that day
  • Identify turf problems and suggest treatments
  • Generate new leads
  • Assist in making sure that required equipment is in working order and materials are ready for treatments daily and coordinating with mechanic for any repairs needed
  • Efficiently map your route given customer information using Google Maps, GPS, etc.
  • Complete all duties, safely, with no accidents
Qualifications
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in fertilizer applications
  • Valid Class E Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Record
  • Must have current category 3 Applicators License or Ornamental Turf License for Missouri
  • Experience with aerating and overseeding lawns a plus
  • Availability to lift 50 pounds throughout shift
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Availability to work in fluctuating weather conditions (i.e. rain, heat, etc.)
  • Availability to work alone or with others, self-motivated
  • Reliable transportation to and from work

Irrigation Technician

Mitchell, Inc.’s Irrigation Technician is responsible for providing inspections, maintenance and repair of our current customer’s irrigation systems while meeting productions goals as well as generating additional leads/sales.

Responsibilities

– Perform irrigation system inspections, start-ups, winterizations and installations
– Perform quality work
– Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including work site, work vehicle, shop and equipment
– Troubleshoot and identify irrigation problems
– Efficiently map your route given customer information using Google Maps, GPS, etc.
– Complete all duties, safely, with no accidents
– Perform other types of work during off-peak seasons, i.e. snow events, aerating, etc.
– Grow your skills and knowledge of the company and the industry
– Maintain forms and complete paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
– Ensure all required materials and equipment needed to perform assigned tasks are in good condition and working order and coordinate with mechanic for any repairs needed
– Stock and prepare truck as needed with all materials and equipment that will be needed that day
– Ensure timely arrival at all appointments
– Ensure open communication with management
– Perform other types of work during off-peak seasons, i.e. snow events, aerating, etc.

Qualifications

– High School Graduate or GED
– Minimum 2 years’ experience in irrigation system inspection, repair, installation, etc.
– Missouri Backflow Certification and/or Journeyman Lawn Irrigation Installer License is preferred but not required
– Valid Class E Driver’s License and clean Motor Vehicle Record
– Must have current category 3 Applicators License or Ornamental Turf License for Missouri
– Experience with aerating and overseeding lawns a plus
– Availability to lift 50-80 pounds throughout shift, kneeling, digging, etc., pull piping and loading and unloading materials into truck
– Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening

– Reliable transportation to and from work

Mowing Crew

Mitchell, Inc.’s Mowing Crew is responsible for maintaining our customer’s lawns by cutting grass, blowing, trimming, etc.

Requirements

– Must be able to operate a walk-behind mower
– Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including work site, work vehicle, shop and equipment
– Perform other types of work during off-peak seasons, i.e. snow events, aerating, washing trucks, etc.
– Complete all duties, safely, with no accidents
– Maintain forms and complete paperwork (log sheets) accurately and in a timely manner
– Ensure all required materials and equipment needed to perform assigned tasks are in good condition and working order and coordinate with mechanic for any repairs needed
– Stock and prepare truck as needed with all materials and equipment that will be needed that day

Qualifications

– High School Graduate or GED
– Minimum 1 years’ experience required

Landscape Maintenance

Mitchell, Inc.’s Maintenance Crew is responsible for maintaining our customer’s yard, including but not limited to: lawn, bushes, landscape beds, hardscape, weeds, trees, etc. Crew will be responsible for providing these services: shovel edge, trim bushes, pick weeds, trim trees, blow leaves, trim flowers, plant flowers, water plants, removing debris, mulch installation and cultivation, etc.

Requirements

– Must be able to operate edge trimmer, weed-eater, blower and mower.
– Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including work site, work vehicle, shop and equipment
– Complete all duties, safely, with no accidents
– Perform other types of work during off-peak seasons, i.e. snow events, aerating, etc.
– Ensure all required materials and equipment needed to perform assigned tasks are in good condition and working order and coordinate with mechanic for any repairs needed
– Stock and prepare truck as needed with all materials and equipment that will be needed that day

Mitchell, Inc.’s Installation Crew is responsible for installing plant materials including flowers, trees, bushes, etc., as well as hardscapes including pavers and patios, etc.

Requirements
  • Must be able to operate a skid steer, trencher, etc.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including work site, work vehicle, shop and equipment
  • Complete all duties, safely, with no accidents
    Perform other types of work during off-peak seasons, i.e. snow events, aerating, etc.
  • Ensure all required materials and equipment needed to perform assigned tasks are in good condition and working order and coordinate with mechanic for any repairs needed
  • Stock and prepare truck as needed with all materials and equipment that will be needed that day
